In the world of sports rehabilitation, massage guns have always been vastly underestimated and overlooked mainly because they were pretty weak and cheaply build up until a few years ago. Companies like TimTam, however, changed that forever. Nowadays, you can see a TimTam massage gun in almost every massage studio or professional gym and there is a good reason for that. In this review, we will go over the TimTam Power Massager Pro and see how it stacks up against other massage guns that claim to have a similar performance at half the price.

Overview & Features
The very first thing that we have to get out of the way is the price of the TimTam massage gun. Despite all of its bells and whistles, it remains one of the, if not the, most expensive massage guns out there priced at around 400-500 dollars. There are a few issues with that price. Even if the gun itself is quite long-lasting, well-built, and superbly effective for muscle and joint recovery, it is more than 4 times more expensive than some other decent massage guns out there. Is it worth it? Well, my short answer is no but if you aren’t on a tight budget it might be well worth its money depending on what you’re going after. Let’s go through all of its features now and see which are the things that separate this gun from the pack.
Design and build quality
The design of the TimTam power massager pro is quite unique and is the only massage gun so far implementing this type of handle and head orientation. The unique handle design combined with the 175-degrees moving head provides a ton of massaging options and positions that would be otherwise unavailable to massage guns with a more traditional design. Inside next to the handle, there are two buttons that control the gun’s programs. Behind that, lies the battery compartment and the GPS locator. On its side, the gun has a LED display that gives you all the important information you need.
The build quality here is very good and is exactly what you’d expect from a 500-dollar massager. The whole gun is covered in antibacterial plastics, except the top handle which is rubberized.
Heads & Head adjustability
There are only three heads here which isn’t bad considering that they have unique functionality to them. You get one standard TimTam tip, one heating tip, and a vibrating (60Hz) tip. These tips screw onto the 20mm shaft of the massage gun. When attached, they can rotate almost 180 degrees quite easily.
Massaging your body’s muscles is where this gun truly shines. It has 3 work speeds – 1000, 2000, and 2800 SPM. These can be toggled from the buttons next to the handle on the inside. You can use the Tim Tam with the three different massage tips you get – standard, heating, and vibrating. The vibrating head is the biggest and is used for the biggest muscle groups on your body. It vibrates at 60Hz which is estimated to have the most beneficial effects for your muscles. The heating tip is the same size as the standard and heats up relatively fast, combining deep-tissue massaging with heating. All of the heads penetrate 30mm deep within your soft tissues which is one of the strongest features of this gun. It often gets overlooked, but stroke depth is one of the hardest things to achieve in the world of massage guns. Most models have that depth at around 14-20mm, while TimTams can go as much as 30mm deep, which is truly revolutionary.
There is even a muscle temperature sensor (in Fahrenheit) right behind the massaging tip that can detect and display temperatures that would indicate inflammations or other issues. When choosing a massage program you can toggle between warm-up, deep-tissue, recovery, neck, and back massages. The 175-degrees rotational head allows you to easily reach different areas of your back on your own.
What’s inside your package
When you purchase a TimTam Massager Pro, you will be getting quite a few accessories. Those are:
- The Power Massager
- Battery with a battery charger
- Travel bag
- An auto-heating tip
- A standard round rubber tip
- Vibrating tip
As you might’ve noticed already, there aren’t that many accessories or head variations that you’re getting. This is somewhat inexcusable at this price so I won’t even try to find any excuses. While other much cheaper massage guns are adding more and more massage heads to their packages, the TimTam only has 3 similarly performing heads. On top of that, there is no hard-shell travel case which is a no-brainer since this gun is almost twice as expensive as the next best gun out there.
If you want to read more about a massage gun that comes with plenty of massage heads, a hard case, has similar functionality, and is much cheaper, I suggest checking out my Theragun G3Pro review!
Ease of use and portability
The TimTam PowerMassager Pro is very practical and quite small for a massage gun actually. It also doesn’t weigh a lot and is easy to carry around and use on all areas of your body. The rotating head also contributes to that regard.
Noise & Battery
The brushless motor inside is not only extremely quiet but it is also very efficient when it comes to battery usage. Still, the TimTam cannot reach the 3-6 hours most other cheaper massage guns do. That is mostly thanks to the high power output of that motor that allows the 30mm tissue penetration and high PPMs. Still, the TimTam is quiet enough to be used in noise-sensitive environments.
Advantages & Disadvantages
- Superb build quality
- Articulating head arm
- Comes with a heated massage head
- Has a vibrating massage head
- Very silent
- 30mm stroke length allows it to penetrate deeper
- Easy to hold and operate
- it is very expensive, more than twice as expensive as some other traditional massage guns
- Some people find the design to be uncomfortable and awkward to hold
- You don’t get a narrow massage head for smaller knots and joints

Despite being the most expensive massage gun out there, the TimTam Power Massager Pro is truly a small piece of history when it comes to self-treatment and sports rehabilitation. It features a unique design with a head that rotates almost 180-degrees allowing you to reach even the hardest spots on your body. What helps with your recovery is the 30mm deep tissue penetration of the massaging tips. The construction quality, lightweight design, and quiet operation are just a bonus to all that. What I don’t like apart from the obvious (price tag) is the fact that it doesn’t come with a lot of specific massaging tips, there is no hard travel case, and most importantly – the battery. With a price like this, you’d expect at least a second battery or a better single-charge life but you can’t always get what you want, I guess. As a whole, I rated the TimTam four and a half out of five stars.
